  • Happy Birthday, Tucker!

I have not started another stocking.  I have no motivation.  I need to get them done for Christmas.  NOW.

We are having revival this week.  One thing I love about revival for us is that the meals are cooked for the evangelist before the services and that includes our family.  It is a real time saver for us because Sid barely gets home in time for us to have meals, much less be dressed and ready for church.  I realize that a lot of other families would love this privilege as well.  So, I do not take this privilege for granted.  I am cooking for the evangelist Wednesday.  We are having lasagna and I am making homemade rolls.

Tucker's birthday is today.  I cannot believe this little guy is three years old.  Three is such a big-deal age for me.  They aren't  babies anymore.  They're not even really toddlers.  This is the year where they make that transition from baby/toddler to kid.
And, on this day, his third birthday... he decided to cut his hair for the first time.  It isn't noticeable, but I notice it... and so it is noticeable.  To me.  I said that.

Watching the latest episode of Little Couple and intent to finish the last of The Tale of Despereaux from yesterday's Movie Night Rescheduled.

We were out of town this weekend at my parent's house (for the last time) to help them load up, yet, another moving truck.  And, next time we see them will hopefully be in their new home.  While we were finishing up Saturday, we got a phone call saying that our street had been evacuated because a plant in the Industrial Park nearby had exploded.  So, we were not going to be able to go home.
Funny thing is, my Dad & Sid had just finished loading all the mattresses.  Dad suggested unloading, but we really had to head back in the direction of home and planned to stay at the church's prophet room.  This also meant we were going to be doing some shopping, because all our church clothes were at home... on our evacuated street.
We ended up finding out that we would be allowed back in when we got home and all was well.

It is really interesting, this story, because as we were pulling out Thursday I had a really strange bad feeling that our house was at risk of danger while we would be away.  I got scared but I prayed that we would have a safe trip and that the house would be protected and kept safe while we were away.  I am so thankful that the Lord not only hears our prayers, but He prompts us to pray them, sometimes, as well as answers.  He is so good!

We went ahead and did Tucker's birthday cake and candles with the singing and eating last night.  Sid is going to pick up his gift on the way home today... but his birthday celebration is going to be kind of short and to the point.  We have revival tonight.  I have pictures of the celebrating, but I have not yet uploaded them.
